i like them

malacca's sunset

i think i really grew up alone with occasional flow of friends and family but i bared all of it on my own because i am the only child, the only daughter of this household. i don't have a constant companion and that has taught me very well of being tough and independent, although i might still be living under my parent's roof and feeding on my parent's money but it doesn't mean i am spoilt, bratty or other descriptions of an only child. i consider myself as an individual and the only individual because i have yet to find someone who is exactly like me, if i happen to find that someone who is exactly like me, i think she is the one.

someone who dances or skips to barry white in the morning, who creates really bad jokes but really funny that throws your friends off the hook, someone who would rather stay in for in-house movies, someone who would go out alone and just plug in her ipod, someone who would keep her phone silent ignoring the world and her friends are lucky to get her text replies faster, someone who would enjoy hot starbucks vanilla latte under a hot sun, someone who would love mambo nights, someone who enjoys viceroy and couldn't/wouldn't smoke other brands (maybe besides Marlboro ice mints!), someone who would want to finish traveling Asia in within 9 years, someone who would be able to do household chores except ironing clothes, someone who could exude such great confidence & charisma, someone who would just read sweet valley books or chick lits.. etc, someone who's capable of romantic antics! ( all must exist together)

basically, someone who's like me.

but for now, for those who have been reading this space, get a moniker if you don't feel comfortable putting your real name, let me know what you have thought of me as a friend or someone virtual.

i thank you for your comments and harsh words in any case, in advance. ( for this entry, i have activated haloscan for your compositions)

(i told you i hate titles)

(this is the east side of sg for you)
inspired by peter bjorn and john- young folks!

I used to blog frivolously every other day because there were so many events happening, be it physically or emotionally. No, I haven't slowed down any. Because for 21 years, I am finally living like an individual instead of being "clique-y" or literally frivolous or maybe I just found peace and contentment within myself. I spent my time with my mom making her cook so often than ever (crying hungry poor child), I spent my time traveling to school with my favourite music (although I don't update my song lists or following the latest tunes, I am still stuck with albums), I spent class hours with my classmates scribbling silly conversations with charlotte (because we are not allowed to talk) and smoking, I spent my time traveling back home with Sangewea (PSP), I spent my weekends with my friends eating steamboat, catching hk serials, movie themes and alot of bad jokes (mostly contributed by me) and smoke of course.

I have mellowed into a woman who is taking charge of her life with her priorities. I don't spend my time wallowing in self-pity, crying unfairness, yelling its a yes or the high way or pondering what's going to happen next. In fact, I am living my life with zest!

Sometimes it felt strange to feel contentment or happiness. I have accepted the fact that people do come and go, very well. I have become so neutral sometimes it scares me if I would lose feelings or emotions.

Whatever happens, please do know that having your family and your closest friends by your side is something that you could never ask for more.

(shit i am getting boring)
(anyway today is 黄金路大决局, so quit calling my cell!)
(after today, then ask me out)

Life life life.

I am so sorry for that long unannounced hiatus. Been really busy these few weeks with endless projects (with really loser teammates) and whatever assessments i had! This whole new year 3 is rather fulfilling and busy and I really like it a lot despite my frequent rants but its great!

Yeah 1724's out, I am not sure how many caught it but it is great! I think we have a shot at winning first prize which is 10k. Ok I sound too confident but even if we dont win, its fine because I think we did a great job for the pre-publicity and the bed scene-stomps prints peripheral! I have always wanted to participate/be involved in AIDS campaign! Totally self-actualizing already.

For the rest of the photos, please visit stompAIDSnyp!

Right after 1724, I had a whole weekend getaway to Malacca with my friends to just release whatever I need to. Everything was breathing down my neck and seriously, I needed that getaway although it was short but it was really relaxing. Nothing fanciful but.

This year .. is about to end so quickly. Unknowingly its December and 2008 is coming, and so many things happened in 2007 which held close to my heart for the heart aches, lessons and also small bits of happiness here and there! Consensus to short lived happiness?

Maybe I should spend sometime recollecting my thoughts for 2007. Give me sometime, because i think I have turned into hokkienvulgarityclubpresident07@hotmail.com and hokkienvulgarityclubvicepresident07@hotmail.com ahahahahaha.

So Christmas's around the corner and I have no idea how to spend it and I dont think I want to spend it in Sg, no choice but to i think but luckily momsie gets to go Philippines and chill for Xmas! I have been really good but recently I have been pulled back but rest assured I am alright.

So chill out and await for a long time no emo post! I am just so fidgety right now! and really exclamationy! !!!!!!!!

shut up ju.

Out of the Closet. (On Deepavali)

(DEEPAvali? Ok joke.)

A homosexual refers to a person who is intimately attracted to the same gender. A homosexual like anyone is being given birth by a pair of heterosexual, like anyone who went through childhood, teen hood, adulthood and eventually elder hood. But what makes me so different from other human beings, is my attraction to the same gender, just like how many of my friends are Malay, Indian or Eurasians.

I am unable to prove that homosexuality is genetically proven or whatever because I do not have any other homosexual cases in my entire family (including extended family). I am raised in a heterosexual family with no strict religion or neither have I attended any girls' school which may be one of the factors that might contributes to homosexuality.

I was and am still schooling in co-ed institutions which boys and girls run freely in the school compound. I played soccer with boys, I skipped hopscotch with the girls. Or rather when I was younger, I played with boys often and I have hated to wear skirts ( I refused to make that point as one of the many factors why I could be a homosexual). And I prefer being sporty while other girls are looking dainty in their dresses and playing Barbie dolls. (Hey, I did played that too. I was usually Kelly.)

Being boyish or in common terms - tomboy, doesn't make me a homosexual. In other words, I grew up in a very neutral environment which no one ever talked about homosexuals. So I can never say that I have been nurtured into one. Because nurturing means with an intention to be one and with specific environment, with specific talks, or even specific activities like how sports players were trained. I cannot say the same for others but why would anyone want to be nurtured into one when back in years, homosexuality was defined and classified as a mental disorder and taboo to all.

Some blamed it on divorced parents, where they lack of either a maternal or paternal love or blamed it on the fact that they came from a single mother. But bearing in mind I do have counterparts who came from a single mother unit or divorced parents who later remarried as well and they are perfectly straight as an arrow. So we cant possibly put that factor down as being a homosexual.

Buddhism, Taoist, Islam, Christianity, Hinduism etc or rather Buddhism, Taoist and Hinduism to my knowledge of course, have neither condone or condemn homosexuality actively. I do know that Islam and Christianity has actively preached that a homosexual sin is greatly forbidden. By saying that, "being a homosexual" is a sin because by defining a homosexual sin is an act of two same gender either physically or emotionally. If two same gender couldn't act physically or emotionally, it would have meant they are totally NOT homosexuals. ( Or probably in this case, they'd go like, ' we are best friends lor.')

Pardon me but I am not saying religion ain't all right or all wrong because I have both heterosexual and homosexual Christian friends and they love God, and believe in God. But despite knowing that homosexuality is forbidden and a taboo, why are there still homosexuals? So religion's out. (Such a touchy topic.)

Feelings? I am a gay woman. (Gay is a better word, I prefer being universal). I had several r/s with men when I was younger. But never the kind of r/s I had with women. My conclusion for the relationships w men is purely lust. We were young, we explored areas that couldn't be found on us. But I could never find the same intimacy I had with women, with men.

I didn't enjoy scratchy chins, broad shoulders, strong chests, the warmth of his body on mine, his protective arms around my shoulders or the big hands. I felt sick after being intimate with them and I could never be comfortable.

Everyone says that I have not found The One (which probably mean Man). True enough I might not have found The One. Now the questions is, is The One a man or a woman? For now, for probably next 20 years, my answer is Woman. Because ever since my last r/s with men, I have no interaction w men intimately and I do have close male friends that I am comfortable with. I do not enjoy mixing with males because they are just so different, just so hard to talk to but not like I have never made any effort. I have met smart, brilliant gentlemen and I have found comfort in them but never in the intimate level. Yes I am going to admit that I used to (and probably still have biasness towards them. I call them rude, smelly, disgusting, testosterones being. (MCP too)

But I guess that boils down to uh, themselves as their characters. I admit that I used to generalize them as one (rude, smelly, MCP etc) and I used to laugh at some stupid boys being silly and I wondered why boys were never like girls!

I don't know how else I could put across any point of my cause being a homosexual. It couldnt be a choice to be homosexual because I do know of homosexuals who never wished they were gay. They are waiting for this phase to be over. But whether it is a phase or not, we will never know until they have truly explored their identity.

And I don't know how being a homosexual could be a preference.

I shan't speak for others.

I don't know how I have reached to this point of reaffirming my sexuality. I guess, by reaffirming my sexuality makes me clearer thus have pride in my sexuality, repeal or not, criminalize or not, there is a place for me in Singapore.

My mother has accepted the way I am, My dad's still in denial. My favourite cousins know it better than anyone. My friends love me (straight and men!). Women still love me.

I am proud to be a gay Singaporean.

I am still juicy.

Annoyed.

Really, I am never into politics at all. I find them boring, dreadful and really boring. But coming to debate issues of homosexuality or almost anything taboo, I am on my toes. Nothing harmful intentional, this is only a piece of a lesbian's mind.

As all of you would know that Repeal 377A is extended till 21st October because a so-called The Majority group came about and started another petition, Keep 377A which it is self-explanatory and I refused to link it. I have been catching the news or rather the papers or the internet buzz.
I read some forum letters, some tags, some comments. Let me gather some key words commonly used.

destroy family unit, no more next generations, for the sake of children, moral rights, sexual behaviour is not a right, no to homosexuals, moral values, the minority, sexual preference has nothing to do with equality or tolerance etc.
I am losing my appetite over this debate. Obviously they are rather discriminating. I refused to comment any further. Maybe next time but now I am going to talk on the phone.

edit@ 9:22pm

The Penal Code of Singapore, in Section 377a, provides for a jail sentence for up to two years should a man be found to have committed an act of "gross indecency" with another man.

It doesnt legalize homosexuals BUT what couples do in private should be none of the law's business. I wont like it if they try to criminalize us if we wanna lick pussies.

So repeal it now, before Friday 19th ends.
